PicoSure ® Laser
The PicoSure® laser, by Cynosure, was the first commercial picosecond-domain laser for treating skin. The PicoSure® laser delivers 755 nm, 1,064 nm, and 532 nm laser energy for treating multicolor tattoos. This laser is unique in that the 755 nm wavelength is the primary wavelength, offering the highest energies at the wavelength where the pulse-duration, or length of time the laser fires, is shortened the most compared to conventional Q-switched lasers. This means that the PicoSure® offers maximal laser energy for treating difficult-to-remove green, blue, and purple pigments. In addition, the PicoSure® laser offers a Focus® Lens Array attachment for rejuvenation of sun-damaged skin.
The PicoSure® laser has a Focus® Lens Array attachment for rejuvenation of sun-damaged skin. The 755 nm wavelength is ideal for treating pigmentation. The PicoSure® Focus® Lens Array not only targets pigmentation from sun-damage, but also induces an inflammatory response that leads to improvement of other signs of skin aging such as fine lines, wrinkles, and enlarged pores. The PicoSure®® laser with the Focus® Lens Array can be used to treat all skin types.

PicoSure® FAQ
What type of laser is the PicoSure®?
The PicoSure® laser is a picosecond laser, and the first picosecond laser on the market. This means that it emits pulses shorter than a billionth of a second. The great thing about this for patients is that it can treat all skin types.
What conditions does the PicoSure® laser treat?
The PicoSure® laser can treat all colors of tattoos, brown spots such as freckles and lentigines, photoaging, and acne scarring.
Is there a special tip for rejuvenation and acne scarring?
Yes, the PicoSure® Focus® handpiece focuses the Picosure® laser energy to an array of fine points within a rectangle grid. This enables concentrated energy to be delivered to sun-damaged skin or acne-scarred skin, cause microthermal treatment zones, resulting in improvement of photodamage and acne scarring.
Can the PicoSure® Focus® laser treat all skin types?
Yes, the PicoSure®® Focus® laser can treat all skin types because the Focus® lens deposits the energy into specific pinpoints on your skin, sparing the skin in between.
What will I look like after the PicoSure® Focus® treatment?
Patients are generally a nice, even pink color following the PicoSure® Focus® treatment. There is little-to-no downtime generally associated with the PicoSure® Focus® treatment.
What wavelength is the Picosure® laser?
The Picosure® laser has a primary wavelength of 755 nm, which is ideal for treating unwanted pigment such as freckles or lentigines. The PicoSure® laser also has the ability to emit 1,064 nm and 532 nm laser energy.
