WHAT CAN I EXPECT FOLLOWING AN ULTRACLEAR® 3DMIRACL® TREATMENT?
The 3DMIRACL® treatment is a mild, yet highly effective, full-face and/or neck treatment designed to improve photodamaged skin with little-to-no downtime or discomfort. It works by treating the most superficial portions of our skin while stimulating a repair response in the deeper layers in the skin. We know this by what we see after treatment, a nice even pinkness or redness in the treated areas, as well as by looking at microscope slides of treated skin which show laser effects in the most superficial portions of our skin. Thus, we can stimulate repair deep in the skin while treating the most superficial layers-a home run.
WHAT CAN I EXPECT FOLLOWING TREATMENT OF MY ACNE SCARS?
I treat acne scars with the UltraClear® laser using the Ultra setting, which treats the deeper layers of the skin. The UltraClear® laser makes tiny little treatment zones into the collagen layer of the skin to stimulate a healing response. A series of 2-3 treatments results in continued improvement, usually without the use of any topical numbing cream. Following treatment, the skin looks red, and a treatment pattern can be seen if you look closely. The redness resolves over a few days, generally disappearing completely 5-7 days following treatment.
WHAT CAN I EXPECT FOLLOWING TREATMENT OF MY WRINKLES?
Treatment of fine lines and wrinkles is one of the main indications for the Ultra-Clear® laser. Treatment is delivered using the Ultra mode often together with the Clear mode in the same treatment session. In addition, the UltraClear® laser can be used in combination with other devices. Often, a vascular laser will be used to treat redness and photodamage on the checks, nose, and forehead with the addition of the UltraClear® laser to the perioral area (lip and chin) during the same treatment session. After treatment, the skin looks red or pink and one can see tiny treatment spots if one looks closely. The redness/pinkness resolves over the next 5-7 days and can be easily covered with make-up in the meantime.
WHAT IS A 'COLD' LASER?
A ‘cold’ laser isn’t really cold; it’s just not hot. That’s because the energy is so strongly absorbed by water that most of the energy goes into the water in our skin, rather than being deposited as heat. This means quicker healing, often no discomfort, with outstanding results.
